Hey there new friend,
My name is Laci and I am SO happy you are here 🙂 I am a 30-ish Mom who recently became a nurse as well as a blogger. I guess I am a nurse by day and blogger by night. I am also going back to school right now to get another nursing degree so life is at a minimum chaotic- but I wouldn’t have it any other way! I assume by now you are probably asking yourself what’s the purpose of this blog ?
I guess it all goes back to a car ride back from a beach vacation recently. My husband and I were talking on the way home and he made the remark that I go on vacation more than anyone he knows. And why I certainly know that is not true….what I do know is that I feel I LOVE vacation more than anyone I know. I love it all. From HOURS spent researching the perfect place to stay, reading tons of reviews, finding the best restaurants, shopping in advance for things to take, to packing (well mostly), to the excitement the night before, to actually traveling there, and then the gratification of finally getting to the destination. I mean I just live for it. The whole thing. I can’t explain it. I sort of feel like vacation is “real life” and everything between is just working to pay for the vacations. Am I the only one that thinks that?? Surely not!
Anyways his remark got me thinking. Every time we go on a great vacation or eat somewhere amazing or try something new, I almost always instantly text my friends or family and gush all about the new experience so they will try it too. I love to share things and help other people have fun- I really do. My friends on social media more than likely get sick of seeing all my pictures when we go somewhere but I just can’t help myself. Often, I see friends or family on Facebook looking for suggestions for places to go, hotels, restaurants, and most recently the best tent for the beach. And when I see this I can’t help but respond. And it’s a long, detailed response and I think ” gosh that was a long response” after I write it but I am very thorough and detail oriented. If I love something I just feel compelled to share is the bottom line so that others can have fun and great experiences too. As I tell my little- “sharing is caring”.
So, as we are driving home Brandon’s comment is going through my brain somewhere between Daytona and home when all of a sudden it hits me out of nowhere. I will write a blog about our trips, adventures, restaurants, stores, and just generally neat places we go so that other moms and families can get fun ideas as well.
Maybe you will read a blog of mine about somewhere you haven’t been yet but have been thinking of checking out. Or a restaurant you have driven by several times but wondered if it was a good place for your small children or grown children for that matter. Or maybe it will be a blog about ways to be more organized and save on a beach trip, or Disney, or the zoo. My blogs may be somewhere very close to my home, in the Golden Isles, or it may be Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, or another spot I have already been or one I am planning to try for the first time.
Either way, I plan to take you with me friend.
My goal is to help you avoid that by only recommending places and things that my family has personally tried and loves and something I think you will as well. I am really excited about sharing with you more as this project continues to progress. We can both learn and travel together. I plan to feature a lot of local restaurants and activities close to Saint Simons Island and Jekyll Island as the kiddo and I check out all the fun things to do right here on the Georgia coast.
Much travel love,
