I hope this finds you getting ready to kick off a fantastic weekend full of fun for you and the fam! My crew and I are actually on the way to Daytona to check out a new hotel on the beach there- The Hard Rock Hotel at Daytona Beach! I am looking forward to a chance to soak up the last bit of fun from the summer before school kicks off for my little on Monday. Last week was spent doing as much fun stuff as we could while also doing all of the necessary errands to get this new school year started.
I have been wanting to try Rebounderz in Jacksonville, FL for awhile!! Jacksonville is just over the Florida line and only takes around an hour from our house in Brunswick, Georgia! Jacksonville has soooo many great entertainment options in general, especially for families. With the business of “just life” and nursing school the last two years we had not been able to make it to Rebounderz though to check it out. That all changed last week when I decided to embark on a journey to Jacksonville with my niece (3) and my Mr. Wonderful (5). They are BOTH fantastic but you get them together and WOW! I just want to take this moment to tell you all of you mamas with >1 small child that you are a superhero, a rockstar, and saints all rolled into one ball of awesome and also that I am a lesser woman. I see you out and about in public and I am always amazed how calm, cool, and collected you are and I never cease to be in awe. Anyways- this was probably my first venture to this type of establishment with two littles and so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
Rebounderz is like heaven for parents for real. It is VERY nicely done. From the polished cement flooring to the decorations it was ALOT nicer than what I had in mind. As soon as we arrived, we completed some waivers and purchased our socks. FYI you will be required to purchase rebounderz socks for $2 but they are reusable so I saved ours so we can use the next time. I thought they were super neat though because they had really cool grippy bottoms that help prevent accidents on the trampolines and other attractions. The staff were ample and very helpful. The assistant manager, a very nice young man, was kind enough to walk us around to each area and explain the features the kids might be interested in as well as showed us some areas more geared towards the older kids like laser tag and the rock wall. My first impression is that I could NOT believe how much there was there for kids to do. They really have some of everything or what you might think of as a one stop shop.
The trampoline park was the first area we checked out when we got there and I think I speak for the group when I say that it was our collective favorite. The trampoline park area is what I would consider the crown jewel of Rebounderz and maybe what they are most known for. This area is HUGE! There is a section towards the end that is netted off and designated for dodgeball. We never went into that section but it appeared to be mostly older kids and so I REALLY appreciate the netting to keep the littles out from under the older kids who understandably like to play alittle more rough. We had the BEST time jumping and playing in this part. I even got in on the action and let me tell you that I was jumping so high I kind of scared myself. But it was a blast! If maybe jumping is not your thing then there are conveniently placed and very comfortable seating areas right in front of the trampolines. There are also some cubbies for your belongings which I thought was very thoughtful and if you need to leave some valuables then there are also lockers for rent too. We liked the trampolines SO much we actually hit this area twice with the second time being right as we were about to get in the car. The reason was two fold- one because the kids really liked this part and wanted to play some more and two because I wanted to make sure we had drained every bit of energy so they would sleep on the car ride home. It worked like a charm 😉
The Foam Pit
After the trampolines we checked out the foam pit area and that was one of the kid’s favorite areas too. There were two smaller trampolines there with a HUGE foam pit filled with squishy foam squares. The kids DID NOT want to get out of the foam pit all. They had the best time playing around in there, especially my niece. I thought for a second she was going to lay down and take a nap. They liked covering each other up with the blocks until they were completely hidden. I wanted SO badly to run as hard as I could and jump into the pit. I was able to resist the urge but I really enjoyed watching them play in this area. This was another area that they liked so much we checked it out again before we left for the day.
The Ninja Warrior Course
After the foam pit we went to the ninja warrior course. It looks just like the Ninja Warrior TV show if you are familiar with that. I happen to have just seen it recently for the first time but this course looks a lot like the one from TV. They even have the red wall you have to climb at the end. One thing that rebounderz has though that they do not have on the TV version is one very kind young man working in this area. I never caught his name but there was THE nicest young gentleman that spent a ton of time showing P each station and how to tackle it. He never got frustrated or seemed tired of working with him. As a mom I really appreciated that extra effort and it made a big difference in how much P was able to enjoy this area. In order to play on the wall portion you will need to bring tennis shoes as those are required for that part so make sure to plan accordingly. You have to be 42 inches or taller to enjoy the ninja course but if you have some that aren’t quite tall enough yet there is a great smaller ( and less challenging) ninja course right next to the warrior course that the littles can enjoy while the bigger kids play too. My niece had a great time playing in this section while big cousin checked out the other. My favorite part was that there were some really comfy seating options by the smaller kid’s course and you could watch both areas at the same time. Several moms and grandmothers were taking advantage of conveniently placed seating for the adults. It was awesome to relax and be able to keep eyes on the kiddos.
Arcade games, Laser Tag, Bowling, and More
In addition to the trampolines, foam pit, and warrior course there is SO much more than just that. There really is something for every single age group. Laser tag was one of the activities that we did not get to try but seemed very popular based on the herd of 10-13 year old boys I watched run and out the laser course over and over again. They looked like they were having the best time. I also noticed that the rock climbing walls were exceptionally popular. I personally really enjoy rock climbing walls and think it is a great way to sneak in some exercise which lord knows I need. I think this is also a challenge for a lot of kids given all of the technology these days so it’s a great way to get them up and moving!
I also noticed quite a few pool tables as well as some bowling alleys. The bowling area seemed very popular and I want to check this out next time for sure. As if all of that is not enough, there is a respectable arcade area that is enough to please any gamer in your group. I was surprised by how substantial this area was considering I wasn’t even expecting any arcade games. This was a bonus for me and next time I will bring back our resident gaming expert to check it out too. Rebounderz also offers party packages that sounds awesome. If the state of the facility is any indication of the birthday parties they can throw then I feel most confident they throw a really good party. I love that no matter the ages in your group, ability level, or interest there is something at rebounderz they can do. We have a big variety in ages in our family so this is really important to keep everyone happy:) Especially Mom !
Eats and Cool Brews
After all of that fun you and the kids are bound to work up an appetite. Rebounderz offers a full service restaurant as well as a full service bar. I spotted several beers on draft and saw many parents treating themselves to a frosty beverage after a long day corralling kids. Cheers to you! My husband wasn’t able to join us on this occasion but I can imagine he would have been happy to watch us all play from a comfy seat in the “EATS” area with something cold and refreshing to enjoy. Unfortunately we had just eaten before we got there but the next trip I definitely plan to check out the awesome food and beverages that Rebounderz offers.
I can not recommend enough that you and your family give Rebounderz a try! I was super impressed with the facility, the reasonable prices, all the activities, the helpful staff, and the overall experience. Rebounderz is the perfect option for the weekends now that school has started back or for rainy days at the beach! Let me know if you check it out. I would love to here about your trip. You can find more information on Rebounderz here .
